Deciding to remodel your kitchen is a big decision. A really big one!
You’ve been delaying the inevitable and accommodating the lack of counter and cabinet space, dated fixtures and old, inefficient appliances until someone in your family (usually the cook) finally puts their foot down and calls UNCLE. Game over. It’s time to make your dream kitchen a reality.
If you already love IKEA, it’s probably because you like the stylish design and affordability of all the products they offer. If you’re ready to pull the trigger on an IKEA kitchen, and you live in Nashville, here are five reasons you’ve really done yourself a solid!
1) IKEA is like no other company when it comes to scale of economy in their home furnishings.
So who better than IKEA to deliver a cleverly organized, highly functional, stylish kitchen? The product designers at IKEA have decades of experience with every type of kitchen for every type of family, and it shows, not only in their range of styles, but in legions of raving fans and happy customers.
2) The quality of IKEA kitchen cabinets is amazing.
To buy custom-made, solid wood cabinet boxes and doors costs tens of thousands of dollars, not to mention the wait time for a skilled cabinet maker to build them. IKEA cabinets are made of durable, beautiful particle board (similar to MDF — medium density fiberboard). Most off-the-rack cabinet systems are also made of some grade of particle board, but don’t offer the 25 year warranty, or deliver the modern, designer looks, that IKEA does.
3) So is the quality of IKEA kitchen hardware.
IKEA's drawers are solid metal, with really superb hardware, hinges, and drawer dampers for soft-closing. Check out designer showrooms and see for yourself the cost of drawer pulls and door front handles in various finishes and sizes. Now pick yourself up off the floor and take a closer look at IKEA’s kitchen hardware. It’s form meets function in Scandinavian styles that look great.
4) There’s a solution for every floor plan
If it’s not possible to gut your existing kitchen to create a truly blank space, you’ll have walls which have to stay, fixed plumbing, corner and/or upper cabinets to design around, and of course, the living areas surrounding the kitchen to accommodate as you plan. IKEA has options for all sizes of kitchen re-dos from gutting to the studs to creating a single floating island.
5) IKEA has design software. You have access to ModerNash’s IKEA Kitchen Design Course.
We’ve learned that 99.9% of people find IKEA’s DIY design app really confusing. Our founder, Nick Ray, has written an IKEA design master course so you can learn how to navigate IKEA’s kitchen planning software, and maintain your sanity, whilst getting help designing the perfect IKEA kitchen.
Bonus: You won’t have to drive to IKEA and wait hours while you place your kitchen order. We do that for you. And our team of contractors have designed and installed over a thousand IKEA kitchens, so there’s never guess work in the installation process.
Does all of this sound like a foreign language to you? Don’t worry, you’re about to become fluent in Kitchen Redo Speak! Think of your new IKEA kitchen as the destination and the ModerNash team as your travel guides.
